Inexpensive art / Decorar paredes por poco dinero

I think we would all agree that art is to walls what accessories are to fashion but unfortunately we don’t always have the Budget to get the art we want. So here I have tried to collect some more resources and little DIY projects to dress our walls.

Creo que todos estamos de acuerdo en que el arte es a las paredes lo que los accesorios a la moda, lamentablemente no siempre contamos con el presupuesto que quisiéramos.

Por eso he intentado encontrar algunas maneras de hacer proyectos baratos para vestir nuestras paredes.

1-what dresses your walls should be pretty and meaningful (to you), personally id rather have pieces  that means “something” to me (a photo that brings a memory of a trip like the ones below, a drawing a friend made, old pictures found at a flea market ...) than one of those paintings they sell at most décor shops  

1-lo que cuelgas en la pared debería ser bonita y con significado (para ti), personalmente prefiero tener piezas que signifiquen “algo” para mi (una foto de un lugar que me encanta, un dibujo de un amigo, una lamina preciosa) que uno de esos cuadros que venden en la mayoría de tiendas

2-art doesn’t need to be expensive, take this little project for example:

3-create your own! The painting below I made it for a show flat I decorated with my partner and friend P two years ago. Budget was extremely tight and we couldn’t find anything we liked, so I just bought a canvas and made a little collage of my own and splattered some ink on top! we needed a splash of colour to the mostly neutral colored living room and I think we got it! funny story behind that painting, it wouldn’t fit in the car so we had to put it on the cars roof 120km down to the flat, halfway through ,the ropes broke and it was blown away to the side of the road where a nice lady was passing by. I ran like crazy to get it and when I got there (after several insults from other cars as we had to stop in the middle of the road), the nice lady tells me-that is such a nice painting! I  know the painter (pretending to remember his name…..) and I looooove his work!!

Of course I smiled and nodded ;)

3-crealo tu mismo! El cuadro de debajo lo hice para un piso piloto que decore con mi amiga y social P hace 2 años. No había casi presupuesto y no encontrábamos nada que nos gustara así que compre un lienzo en blanco hice un pequeño  collage y le tire tinta china por encima! Necesitábamos algún toque de color  en el demasiado neutro salón y creo que lo conseguimos! Detrás de el cuadro hay una pequeña historia, como no nos cabía en el coche lo atamos a la vaca del coche, a mitad de camino las cuerdas se rompieron y el cuadro salio volando a un lado de la carretera por donde pasaba una señora muy amable, corrí como loca detrás (después de que el resto de coches nos insultaran bastante por dar un frenazo en medio de la carretera…) y cuando por fin llego al cuadro me dice la amable señora  –Que cuadro tan bonito! Conozco al pintor (haciendo ver que intentaba recordar su nombre...) me encanta su obra!!  Por supuesto le sonreí y asentí con la cabeza ;)

4-This little framed pieces are in my bedroom, basically I got a one of this bubble making thingy’s that kids play with and filled it with ink, water and soap, filled the bathroom floor with paper and made a huge mess!!!! Apologies to my mother as I made the mess in HER house….

4-Estos pequeños dibujos están en mi dormitorio, resumiendo lo que hice fue comprar un cacharrito de niños para hacer pompas de jabón y lo llené con tinta china, agua y jabón.  Llené el suelo del baño con papel y manche todo hacienda pompas como loca!!! Pido disculpas a mi madre por que la brillante idea ocurrió en SU baño.....

4-Silhouttes and prints. They have been around for a long long time but I still love them! make silhouettes of you kids, dogs ,family or friends a la Jonathan Adler (his are from Carter Kustera) or get cute prints from Etsy (I got mine at Blu Lima)

4-Siluetas y laminas.Llevan ya tiempo dando vueltas pero a mi me siguen encantando. Haz siluetas de tus hijos, perros,amigas o familia a la Jonathan Adler(las suyas son de Carter Kustera) o encarga lamina e impresiones de Etsy (las mias son de Blu Lima)
